The Story So Far…

I'm Mona, and my journey into the world of food began in my family's kitchen, where I learned the art of cooking from my Baa (grandmother), mother, mother-in-law, and Masis (aunts).
What started with simple tasks like filling samosas soon evolved into a deep passion for creating flavourful, authentic dishes.

Whilst working as a teacher, I began cooking for friends and colleagues every Tuesday - a tradition that became affectionately known as The Tuesday Club.
It was during one of these dinners that I invited Tamercan, a chef from Türkiye, to join us. He loved the Indian food so much that he offered to cook for us the following week.
His food opened my eyes to Turkish flavours, spices, and techniques, which I eagerly embraced and began incorporating into my own dishes.

MONA’s is the culmination of years of passion, experimentation, and dedication. After over 10 years of sharing my fusion dishes at food markets and festivals, this restaurant was opened to create a space where my love for food and the traditions I cherish could come together. A place where food, culture and connection meet.
